  • Where chemicals have been decanted, their containers are labelled accordingly (unknown chemicals should be isolated and labelled with ‘caution, unknown substance, do not use’ and disposed as per local waste management requirements)

  • The controls listed on SDS’s have been included in the Safe Working methodology (i.e. PPE requirements of the SDS are in the SWMS or JHA) , and emergency response equipment is available (e.g. Eyewash, spill kit, fire extinguishers etc.)

  • Conduct Visual Verification - Where activities being undertaken on site include the use of chemicals, the control measures identified in controls such as SWMS, Risk Assessment or SDS are being applied

  • Conduct Interview with Workers to ensure awareness of the requirements in relation to the use of chemicals on site including availability and use of SDS

  • Where quantities of chemicals on site exceed prescribed threshold amounts, manifests have been prepared & Emergency control arrangements prepared and communicated as required
