Purpose of LOTO

  • Description of Task: To gain access to the hub for service and inspection

  • Locations where work will be done: Hub

Scope of LOTO Instruction

  • Equipment - V162 EnVentus Mk0A - 0C

  • Conditions that must be met before the LOTO can take place:
    The wind turbine must be in the STOP mode = mode selector in position 4.
    Turn the mode selector service key (++01-615-08-S1) in tower controller
    cabinet (++01) to position 4.
    In ++03 nacelle control panel, the mode selector service key (++03-615-08-
    S2) must be turned to position 4 and the enable output key (++03-615-08-
    S4) must be turned to position 1.
    (Acknowledge on the toolkit4 panel.)

    Section C:
    Working in the HUB for service-related checks, but no component
    replacements.

  • Comments:
    The LOTO instruction does not take local updates of the wind turbine into account, but only standard Vestas options.

    Do not try to lock the rotor when the rotor turns. Always engage the rotor brake before you lock the rotor.
    Do a visual inspection to see if the 2 rotor lock pins are fully engaged. The transparent cover on the hydraulic cylinders shows the position of the piston rod. The cylinder cover includes additional marks for fully engaged (1) and disengaged (2) position.

    Do not apply the Rotor Brake in high winds. (-235-S1)
