1st fix partition

  • Ensure dimensional checks are in place when setting out partition/ cupboard walls including all bathroom, kitchen & SVP boxings and supporting structure Door Openings

  • Ensure the dry lining specialist is familiar with the fire strategy document & fire door fire test & fixing literature

  • Check critical dimensions of bathroom & kitchen dimensions against General Arrangements & specialist bathroom & kitchen drawings.

  • Ensure correct board specification is used to head fillets

  • Head channel & Base channels & Abutment studs are to be fixed at 600mm maximum center's & 50mm from the end the of channel or stud run with Two intumescent mastic seals (check for gaps once installed) (Ensure fixings are as per K10 and sufficient embedment)

  • Ensure stud specification is as per K10 (check for stud centres & additional support requirements incorporating ply pattresses & wet areas etc) Ensure each stud is secured to the base channel using Jack Point Wafer Head screw

  • Deflection head formed to suit deflection requirements

  • Flat plate installed to incorporate deflection gap (as per section detail/K10) Two Jack point Wafer head screw fixings per stud

  • Internal wall T junctions formed as per section plans to ensure acoustic break

  • Corners studs fixed together at 600mm centres and within 50mm from the ends of lengths.

  • Check supporting structural opening door jambs and openings have been formed to specific (kg) door weight (see Door schedule and Knauf Manual Detail 28-29) Softwood Timber insert installed and fixed in door jambs

  • Ensure two pairs of fixing into base channel, one pair at jamb stud base & one pair at 150mm from door jamb (Knauf Manual Detail 28-29) & base channel is turned up by 300mm at door jambs and secured using jack point wafter head screw at 150mm centres

  • The supporting structural opening door heads is to be diagonally cut, and turned down a minimum of 250mm into jamb stud and secured using jack point wafter head screw at 300mm center's check kg weight & door schedule (see detail 28 & 29) e.g. 60 kg+ 70mm U Channel to door head & a stud at 150mm from door jamb (whipper stud)

  • Correct screw type used for stud gauge. (Under 0.7 wafer head screw type over 0.7 jack point screw) refer to wording on stud

  • Ensure all services passing through fire-rated partitions are in accordance with the appropriate letter box detail

  • Ensure the dry lining subcontractor coordinate the setting out in conjunction with the small power & lighting drawings & typical height drawing to avoid clash

  • All partitions are to be boarded one side (ensure the board is as per K10)

  • Provide a 200mm service rip of board installed to the 2nd side.

  • Shower trays to have 200mm rip removed at the base of internal walls to allow for tray installation (Fire performing walls to remain fully boarded)
