What should you do before moving your Fork Lift Truck? Operatives need to get at least 3/5 answers below to pass this section.
- Check my surrounding area before I move, making sure it is clear of obstructions, pedestrians and other moving vehicles.
- Ensure my forks/load are as low to the ground as possible.
- Ensure I have released the handbrake as this should always be engaged when the Fork Lift is stationary.
- Always use both forks to lift a load (if applicable).
- Check the load to make sure it is stable, if not, do not attempt to move the Fork lift until the load has been stabilised.

What do you do when you are moving your load? Operatives need to get 3/5 to pass this section.
- Always drive to the speed limit and conditions.
- Sound my horn at blind corners and pedestrian crossings.
- Carry loads as low to the ground as possible and with the fork heel at around 100mm from the ground and fork tips around 50mm above the heel (forks inclined).
- Keep a safe distance from any vehicle or person in front of you (at least three truck lengths).
- Cross kerbs and gullies slowly and wherever possible, diagonally.
