  • Is means of raising alarm appropriate to the size and nature of the building or workplace?

D - Plant & Equipment

  • Tools/equipment suitable for use

  • Access scaffolding - Scaff tags/inspection reports up to date

  • Access Towers/ladders/hop ups - Maintained and safe to use

E - General

  • Current work activities - Work is being carried out in a safe manner

  • Method statements - Copies available for specific work being carried out

  • Risk assessments - Copy available on site and renewed/updated for specific activities

  • Working at height - Adequate systems in place to prevent falls from height or falling materials

  • Lifting - Suitable procedures in place if work being carried out

  • Noise - Hearing protection being worn where necessary, measures in place to prevent activities creating a statutory nuisance in terms of noise

  • Vibration - Suitable tools and ppe being used to reduce hand-arm vibration , measures in place to prevent activities creating a statutory nuisance in terms of vibration

  • Manual handling - Materials etc being moved around site in a suitable manner
