  • Confirm two neck braces in cupboard

  • Confirm 1 x Additional Burns Kit in cupboard

Main Medicine Bag

  • Check exterior safety tags are intact

  • If tag is broken on exterior pouches - check/count inventory of pouch

  • Check expiry dates on safety tags - make a note of the closest date of expiry

  • Open main bag - Check safety tags are intact

  • If tag is broken on any pouches - check/count inventory of the pouch

  • Reseal main bag - mark as checked on tags

Pediatric Medical Bag

  • Check exterior safety tag is intact - if tag is broken continue with below checks

  • Open main bag - If tag is broken on any pouches - check/count inventory of the pouch

  • Reseal main bag - mark as checked on tags

  • Confirm two neck braces in cupboard

Starboard Forward Bridge Console

Defibrillator

  • Test defibrillator - Do this by pressing the i button (machine will say "Ready for use")

  • Check pads connection is correct

  • Check battery is inserted correctly

  • If still not working inform medical officer or Captain

  • Defibrillator - Check expiry date on the pads

  • Defibrillator - Confirm Child key is in the box

  • Defibrillator - Check safety tag on equipment pouch

  • If tag is broken - check/count inventory of the pouch

  • Check expiry dates on safety tag - make a note of the closest date of expiry

Oxygen Bag

  • Check exterior safety tag is intact - if tag is broken continue with below checks

  • Open main bag - If tag is broken on any pouches - check/count inventory of the pouch

  • Open main bag - Check O2 bottle seals are unbroken

  • Check bodok seal on regulator is still intact

  • Check pressure on O2 bottle A:

  • Attach the regulator to O2 bottle A

  • Rotate the slider to zero

  • Open valve in a slow & controlled motion

  • Close the valve, then vent the pressure by rotating the slider to towards 10

  • Remove the regulator

  • Check pressure on O2 bottle B:

  • Attach the regulator to O2 bottle B

  • Rotate the slider on the regulator to zero

  • Open valve in a slow & controlled motion

  • Close the valve, then vent the pressure by rotating the slider to towards 10

  • Remove the regulator and return to the bag

  • Reseal main bag - mark as checked on tags

Starboard Under Sofa - Corner Locker

Emergency Fluid Management Bag

  • Check safety tag is intact - if tag is broken continue with below checks

  • Open main bag - If tag is broken on any pouches - check/count inventory of the pouch

Emergency Fracture Bag

  • Check safety tag is intact - if tag is broken continue with below checks

  • Open main bag - If tag is broken on any pouches - check/count inventory of the pouch

  • Confirm Stretcher is in Bridge Deck Starboard Luggage Locker

  • Confirm 1 x Adult Epi-Pen is on display in Pantry

  • Confirm 1 x Child Epi-Pen is on display in Pantry
