TAREG 5.4.1 - Tools and Support Equipment

  • List MMP References:

  • 5.4.1.a. Does the AMO have, or have access to, the necessary tools and support equipment to conduct maintenance of state aircraft and/or aeronautical product?

  • 5.4.1.b. Does the AMO have and conform to a documented system which ensures all tools and support equipment used maintenance and servicing of State Aircraft and/or Aeronautical Product are:

  • 5.4.1.b.(1) serviceable;<br>

  • 5.4.1.b.(2) appropriate and approved for the maintenance for which they are employed;

  • 5.4.1.b.(3) calibrated (where applicable); and

  • 5.4.1.b.(4) individually identified.

  • 5.4.1.c. If conducting maintenance of complete aircraft or aircraft engines, does the AMO conform to the following:

  • 5.4.1.c.(1) individually trace the tool to the job; and<br>

  • 5.4.1.c.(2) account for tooling at shift changes and at the completion of maintenance.

  • 5.4.1.d. Does the AMO only use the tools specified in AMD unless otherwise approved by DGTA or relevant AEO?

  • 5.4.1.e. Are missing tools procedures being followed?

TAREG 5.4.2 - Local manufacture or modification of standard tools

  • List MMP References:

  • 5.4.2.a. Does the SMM authorize local manufacture, modification and use of standard tools?

  • 5.4.2 b. Prior to authorization does the SMM ensure:

  • 5.4.2.b.(1) the tool is fit for the intended purpose;

  • 5.4.2.b.(2) the tool is appropriately identified;

  • 5.4.2.b.(3) documentation detailing the tool's purpose , maintenance policy, and correct use is detailed in a local procedure; and

  • 5.4.2.b.(4) the relevant AEO is provided a copy of the documentation required by TAREG 5.4.2.b(3).

TAREG 5.4.3 - Aeronautical Product

  • List MMP References:

  • 5.4.3.a. Has the AMO documented maintenance and logistics procedures for management of aeronautical product within the AMO's control?

  • 5.4.3.b. Prior to the installation of Aeronautical Product to higher assemblies, do maintenance personnel ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to qualify the product?

  • 5.4.3.c. Does the AMO ensure the following:

  • 5.4.3.c.(1) all Aeronautical Product has been identified from the relevantARO-Approved parts list;

  • 5.4.3.c.(2) all Aeronautical Product is sourced from the relevant AEO-approved manufacturer,nominated agent or accredited vendor;

  • 5.4.3.c.(3) initial receipt inspection requirements defined by the procurement/ordering authority, where applicable to the AMO, are conducted;

  • 5.4.3.c.(4) an identification and tracking system records and tracks each item of Aeronautical Product that is received, stored, issued, and used within the AMO;

  • 5.4.3.c.(5) only approved Aeronautical Product is installed or used on State Aircraft or other Aeronautical Product;

  • 5.4.3.c.(6) except when fitted to State Aircraft or other Aeronautical Product, is all Aeronautical Product labelled, to provide the following information:<br> (a) item name;<br> (b) manufactures part number(s);<br> (c) stock number (where applicable);<br> (d) serial number or batch / lot number (where applicable); and<br> (e) name(s) and signature(s) of person(s) certifying the equipment as serviceable or unserviceable (as applicable);

  • 5.4.3.c.(7) handling and storage of Aeronautical Product is carried out in a manner that prevents damage or deterioration and retains technical integrity;

  • 5.4.3.c.(8) all Aeronautical Product is packaged and labelled to the extent necessary to ensure conformance to all required standards stipulated by the relevant AEO;

  • 5.4.3.c.(9) where applicable all certificates of conformity (c of c) or approved AEO-approved equivalent are retained;

  • 5.4.3.c.(10) suspect unapproved Aeronautical Product is investigated and reported to the AEO iaw TAREG 5.3.4.a(1) and (2);

  • 5.4.3.c.(11) any Aeronautical Product which is subject to investigation is segregated and quarantined from other Aeronautical Product, reported and labelled with investigation and full identification details;

  • 5.4.3.c.(12) unserviceable Aeronautical Product is separated from serviceable Aeronautical Product;

  • 5.4.3.c.(13) Aeronautical Product that is to be transported is packaged, labelled and transported with all applicable documentation iaw AEO requirements; and

  • 5.4.3.c.(14) Aeronautical Product identified for disposal is segregated and disposed of in a manner approved by the relevant AEO.

TAREG 5.4.4 - Transfer of Aeronautical Product (Cannibalisation)

  • List MMP References:

  • 5.4.4.a. Does the AMO ensure that the serviceability of cannabalised Aeronautical Product is validated prior to, or on installation of, the product when transferring from assign aircraft or higher assembly?
