Electrical Safety - Weekly checks

  • Are all plug sockets, including extension leads/cables in working order and undamaged?

  • Check that all electrical equipment is in working condition and note down any faults or visual damages. Cables/ plugs/ leads/ monitors/ laptops and PC's/ wireless keyboards and mouse

Fire Safety - Weekly checks

  • All fire exits are clear and no obstructions are blocking the area

  • Are all escape route to fire exits all clear? All clearly marked?

  • No combustible materials for example. Paper, cardboard, chemicals ect are stored near a heat source.

  • Fire alarm tested?

Lighting - weekly checks

  • Are all lights in working order? Note down any that are flickering or seem damaged.

  • Is there adequate natural light (are windows clean)?

Slips, trips and Falls - Weekly Checks

  • Are all carpet tiles and grills flat?

  • Are trailing leads/cables secured and covered?

  • Are all carpet tile holes covered correctly?

Posters / Signage - Monthly Checks

  • Is the H&S Law poster displayed?

  • Are all Public & Employers liability insurance certificates displayed?

Staff Awareness - Monthly Checks

  • Do all employees know the location of the first aid box?

  • Do all employees know who the first aiders are?

  • Do all employees know the location of fire extinguishers?

Bi - Annual, Annual and Other checks

  • Fire Drill (every 6 months)

DSE User Assessments (Annual)

  • Have all DSE users completed a DSE assessment in the last 12 months?

Fixed Wire Electrical Testing (Every 5 years)

  • Has the fixed wire electrical testing been conducted in the last 5 years? Is relevant documentation and certification available? Are you aware of the location of this information?
