Pre-Arrival

  • Is the ramp crew using approved wands for aircraft arrival? (Lighted Wanda for night operations)

  • Is there a guide man in place for positioning the jetbridge?

  • Crew remains clear of aircraft until beacon lights (ACLs) are off?

  • Was the 30-point arrival walkaround completed?

  • Did the fueler wait for the bridge to be put onto the aircraft and walkaround completed on the fueling side prior to connection to aircraft?

  • Are the appropriate amount of chocks used for the type of aircraft and type of flight?

  • Are the appropriate amount of safety cones used for the aircraft type and placed in the correction location?

  • Has ground power been installed within 5 mins of wheel stop? Has clip closest to receptacle been unclipped?

  • Was ground power connection confirmed with flight crew?

  • Has conditioned air been installed within 5 minutes of wheel stop?

Offload/Onload

  • Is only GSE intended for the use of transporting baggage used to move bags/cargo in and around the ramp area?

  • Does all the equipment brought up to the aircraft have a guideman in place?

  • Is the guideman in proper position to guide equipment to the aircraft?

  • Is a brake check being done on all equipment being brought up to the aircraft?

  • Is a gap maintained between the aircraft and any ground service equipment? (4-6 inches)

  • Are all beltloaders being used on aircraft chocked?

  • For the beltloaders being used on the aircraft do they have their conveyor platform beneath the compartment sill?

  • Are hand rails being utilized on belt loafers for the appropriate aircraft?

  • Are all portable units hooked up to the aircraft disconnected from the motorized vehicle?

  • All compartments (even those showing as empty) are opened and inspected?

  • Priority bags offloaded first and dropped first?

  • Do all ramp crew members have a copy of the outbound loading instructions?

  • Are baggage carts/cans being driven up to the aircraft in the proper manner?

  • Are baggage carts driven up to the aircraft maintaining a 3-foot gap from the end of the belt loader?

  • Are ULDs & beltloaders lowered when not in use/unattended?

  • Are tongues up on all carts/dollies being used on the aircraft and in the immediate vicinity?

  • Are all motorized vehicles being driven at appropriate speeds in and around the sterile area?

  • Are belt loaders being monitored to ensure bags are not falling off during loading?

  • Did the ramp lead deliver the final numbers to the OPS agent at least 10 minutes to scheduled departure?

  • Did the OPS agent and Lead agent review the outbound loading instructions line by line?

  • Are cones being kept in place until all equipment is off the aircraft?

  • Is a tactile check being done on all nets and locks prior to departure?

Departure

  • Was the 30-point departure walkaround completed?

  • Is all unattended GSE equipment turned off and have the parking brake applied?

  • Is all equipment behind safety perimeter lines for pushback?

  • Is the proper towbar and pushback tractor being used for the aircraft type?

  • Is the proper steering bypass pin used? (For the Embraer check to see if switch is in the proper position for pushback)

  • Was the communication headset checked for serviceability at least 10 minutes prior to pushback?

  • Verification of brakes set from flight deck prior to removing any chocks?

  • Are both wingwalkers properly positioned for pushback?

  • Is the ramp crew using the approved wands for pushback?

  • Did the jetbridge operator remain in position until the nose of the aircraft cleared the bridge head?

  • Was the steering bypass pin removed? (For the Embraer- was the switch returned to the correct position)

  • Was the towbar disconnected from the tractor first then the aircraft?

  • After all equipment and personnel are clear of the aircraft was a proper wave off given to the flight crew?
