TYPE OF AIR MONITORING CONDUCTED

  • What type of air monitoring is being conducted?

REPORT NUMBER

  • G.E.A.M. No.

SUMMARY

  • Para-occupational air monitoring involves the taking of air samples from fixed locations within the vicinity of works involving hazardous materials. Predominantly the samples are taken from the perimeter of the work area ensuring those conducting business or activity immediately outside the works are safe. The purpose of the air monitoring is to identify the amount of hazardous material being produced by works within the work area.

  • The monitoring conducted on your site has been conducted with the strictest standards as required by Worksafe Victoria and the ASCC Guidance Note. The analysis on sampling conducted on your site has been done by a NATA accredited laboratory, meeting all regulatory requirements as set down by NATA. (Details of regulatory requirements can be located at nata.asn.au)

  • All samples taken from sites are required to return an analysis of less than 0.01 fibres/millilitre. Results will be also document the number of fibres located during sampling with must be less than 10 fibres per sample.

DISCLAIMER

  • Para-Occupational air monitoring is a non-discriminant air monitoring process which collects fibres from the air via cellulose filter paper captured via a vacuum pumping system. The fibre counter attached to any results cannot definitely be stated to be asbestos fibres, but rather a collection of fibres in the air at the time of hazardous works. The results can be altered via environmental conditions or intentional or unintentional human interference at the source of monitoring, and GEOH holds no responsibility for the behavior of persons outside the work zone. GEOH does not solely rely on results in this report to deem work zones or practices, safe or unsafe. Any concerns regarding results should be referred to GEOH for clarification.
