  • Are there any geotechnical hazards that I need to consider?

  • Is there a chance of uncontrolled movement, lifting or suspended load?

  • Consider body position. Are there any manual handling hazards?

  • Are there fluids under pressure?

  • Could dust/noise/heat/gas/fumes/electricity/stored energy harm me?

  • Does the task include hazardous substances?

  • Is the chance of a spill or pollution of air, ground or waterway?

  • Are there extremes of cold/heat associated with the task?

  • Are there any other hazards not mentioned above?

  • If YES to any question do not start the task. You must asses the risk
