  • Crane Movement - Operate controls in all directions: Hoist, trolley, bridge. Are controls working in correct direction?

  • Upper/Lower Limits - Does Upper limit switch stop crane hoist? Does Lower limit switch stop crane hoist?

  • Hook and Latch - Is there evidence of wear or damage?

  • Block and Drum - Is cable wrapped around the grooves of the drum correctly? Are there cracks in the welds of the fork assembly or hook block?

  • Warning Device and Labels - Does alarm sound when pressed? Are capacity labels in place and legible?

  • Fire Extinguisher - Is the extinguisher present and not expired?

  • Brakes - Operate and check all brakes: Hoist, Trolley, and bridge (Eddy breaks or floor breaks).

  • Leakage - Note presence of oil or any other leakage.

  • Unusual Sounds - Note any unusual sounds while operating.

  • Housekeeping - Clear the area of all slip/trip hazards, report poor lighting, or other unsafe conditions.

  • Slings and Attachments - Are nylon slings in acceptable condition? Are safety latches working? Are crane forks/hook in good condition? Are capacity labels present and legible?
