    Record and discuss all findings with the Supervisor upon completion.
    Where faults are detected, where possible, please take photos as evidence and post completed inspection form to the relevant Operations group.

  • 1. Clean head, mast and main frame structural areas. Note: Mast inspection must start with a thorough clean of rig.

  • 2. Confirm NDT Certificate is within date.

  • 3. Ensure spotter is utilized when masting up/down for cleaning and inspection.

  • 4. Ensure rig is correctly isolated with isolation confirmed prior to accessing for cleaning/inspection.

Mast

  • 1. Grease sheave wheels (Wireline and winch). Note: If points are unable to take grease please replace or notify supervisor.

  • 2. Check sheave wheel mounts for cracks

  • 3. Check bolts, nuts, mast lights, pins and retention plates are in good condition/tight. Note: Nordlock washers and conelock/nylock nuts are single use.

  • 4. Grease mast pivot points and hydraulic ram's pins. Note: If points are unable to take grease please replace or notify supervisor.

  • 5. Check pivot points and hydraulic ram mounts for cracks.

  • 6. Check condition of hydraulic hoses and fittings. Tighten and replace as required.

  • 7. Inspect mast cross members and main frame for signs of cracking.

  • 8. Inspect wireline cut-out proximity for signs of damage/wear. Replace as required.

  • 9. Inspect mast stay arms, mounts and pins for signs of cracking/damage.

Rod Manipulator

  • 1. Check excessive movement in all rotating components (Tilt motor, slew motor etc).

  • 2. Check over rod manipulator for cracks. Note: Focus on weight bearing areas and mounting plate.

  • 3. Check all grease points take grease. Note: If points are unable to take grease please replace or notify supervisor.

  • 4. Check for missing or loose bolts. Note: Nordlock washers and conelock/nylock nuts are single use.

  • 5. Inspect hydraulic hoses and fittings for signs of wear/leaks. Tighten/replace as required.

  • 6. Inspect proximity switch for signs of wear/damage. Replace as required.

Rig Frame

  • 1. Check for cracks/bowing in base frame.

  • 2. Check for cracks in hydraulic ram and mast mount points.

  • 3. Check for cracks and bowing in jack legs and housings.

Drill Head

  • 1. Check water swivel condition. Note: Leaks can be an indication of wear. Change before locks up.

  • 2. Check condition of whip check and shackles. Note: Shackles should be 4-piece.

  • 3. Check bolts, nuts and pins are in good condition/tight. Note: Nordlock washers and conelock/nylock nuts are single use.

  • 4. Check head alignment (Inspect shims and retaining plates/head guides).

  • 5. Inspect hydraulic/water hoses and fittings for wear. Replace/tighten as required.

  • 6. Inspect head sub condition. Change as required and notify supervisor.
