  • The site will Operate under the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations under which Costain will normally be the Principal Contractor and STW the CDM Coordinator, where this does not apply, the sub-contractor will be provided with details of the Principal contractor and CDM Coordinator.

    With reference to the Regulations, the sub-contractor under the provisions of this Contract must:
    a) Satisfy himself and the of his sub-contractors, that any contractors or designers they engage are competent and adequately resourced.
    b) Co-operate with the Principle Contractor
    c) Provide information to the Principle Contractor about risks to Others (including members of the public) created by their works. This shall be provided by the issue of 'Risk Assessments' and 'Method Statements'.
    d) Comply with any reasonable directions from the Principle Contractor, and with any relevant rules in the Health and Safety Plan.
    e) Inform the Principle Contractor in writing of any accidents and dangerous events that have occurred on site.
    f) Provide information for the Health and Safety File.
    g) Provide Information and training to the employees

    All Personnel working on site shall be in possession of a current, appropriate, Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Identification Card.
