SOP 221 Procedures

Purpose

  • The purpose of SOP 221 is to prevent damage to Boilers and Heat Exchangers from Thermal Shock. It also ensures the chemistry of the water systems remain consistent.

Scope

  • This SOP is intended to assist Operators and Non Maintenance Personnel on how to safely and securely place the Boiler Room in a Stand Bye condition for a normal process shutdown.

Procedures

  • Lower the Setpoint on South Boiler to 150 F

  • Turn the VFD control on the Hot Water Pumps to 30 HZ

  • Ensure North Boiler is in the Off Position

  • Ensure Cold Water Pumps are Running

  • Ensure Chiller Breaker is ON

  • Ensure Fin Fan Breaker is ON

  • Perform a visual inspection of room and look for any leaks or tripping hazards.

  • Turn off the Lights in the Boiler Room
