  • Assess For Step and Touch Potentials Using Modiewark Proximity Detector

  • Conduct visual wiring inspection.

  • Remove fuse cartridge and apply a Danger Tag to secure the Isolation

  • Mark existing active and neutral luminaire wiring determined by the active and neutral luminaire terminal markings

  • Using approved Multi Meter, test to confirm luminaire is electrically isolated, disconnect existing luminaire wiring from the luminaire terminal block and remove existing

  • Test insulation serviceability by testing for continuity between active and streetlight bracket and neutral and street light bracket.

  • INSTALL LUMINAIRE

  • Conduct electrical test and reinsert<br>fuse cartridge

  • PERFORM NEUTRAL INTEGRITY TEST

  • 1. Insert tube/globe and PE Cell;

  • 2. Test between the load and the line side of the streetlight fuse;

  • 3. Re-insert streetlight fuse, light should turn on;

  • 4. Test the current flow in both the streetlight active and neutral. Readings should be identical. Alternatively the ‘tong’ can be clamped over the active and neutral at the same time for a zero current flow indication;

  • 5. Test between the active and the neutral for phase voltage;

  • 6. Test between the active and the independent earth for phase voltage;

  • 7. Test between both the light fitting neutral connection point and the streetlight bracket to independent earth with a multimeter for 0 to 5 volts The light must be working when this test is performed (load)

  • 8. Ensure light turns off

  • PERFORM AN OPERATIONAL TEST

  • - Ensure luminaire turns on

  • - PE cell is installed and functioning
