Ergonomics

  • Are proper lifting techniques followed (bending at the knees, pulling close to body, firmly grasp, straighten legs, no twisting, team lift or equipment use when needed)?

Housekeeping

  • Did associate leave areas free of obstacles or congestion ( aisles, exits, fire equipment, door ways, travel ways, and electrical breaker boxes)?

  • Did associate leave area free of noticeable debris on the floor or location ( wood, paper, plastic bags, parts, bands, etc.)?

PIV Handling

  • Is the inspection card current and completed for the truck?

  • Is associate exercising proper caution at ends of aisles ( stopping at red lines, honking, looking both ways, proceeding cautiously)?

  • Does associate reduce speed when maneuvering corners, turns, ramps, trailers, cross aisles (East / West aisles)?

  • Does associate reduce speed when passing a stationary piece of equipment?

  • Does associate maintain the proper distance between them and other PIV ( at least 2 bay or 2 travel aisles)?

  • Does the associate travel with the forks at minimum height as needed to transport material?

  • Is the associate traveling in a manner that is safe for pedestrians (ample distance between man and machine, reduced speed near pedestrians, not approaching a pedestrian in front of a fixed object, making their presence known at intersections and blind spots, etc.)?

  • Is associate traveling in a direction of best visibility or utilizing a spotter when necessary?

  • Has the associate linked the proper flat carts together to better ensure compatibility and best fit ( green to green and orange to orange)?
