Did you review the previous PM report for follow-up items?
-
Did you disconnect the power? (Pull power cable, turn off power at cabinet)
Visual Inspections
-
Is there any oil residue anywhere on the winch?
-
Is the residue new since the last report?
-
Notify Stage Technologies of potential gearbox leak.
-
Thoroughly remove oil residue from the winch for easy leak detection in the future.
-
Are all T-nuts engaged in track?
-
Loosen bolt and attempt to engage T-nut in the track. Check box to show completion.
-
Are all bolts torque striped?
-
Have any bolts moved?
-
Tighten any bolts that have moved to the following torque and re-torque stripe. Check box to show completion.
-
M4 - 2.3 ft-lbs = 27 in-lbs = 3.1 Nm (7mm wrench)
M5 - 4.5 ft-lbs = 6.1 Nm (8mm wrench, 4mm hex)
M6 - 7.7 ft-lbs = 10.4 Nm (10mm wrench, 5mm hex)
M8 - 18 ft-lbs = 25 Nm (13mm wrench, 6mm hex)
M10 - 37 ft-lbs = 51 Nm (17mm wrench, 8mm hex)
M12 - 64 ft-lbs = 87 Nm (19mm wrench, 10 mm hex)
M16 - 158 ft-lbs = 215 Nm (24mm wrench) -
Tighten any bolts that are not striped to the following torque then torque stripe. Check box to show completion.
-
M4 - 2.3 ft-lbs = 27 in-lbs = 3.1 Nm (7mm wrench)
M5 - 4.5 ft-lbs = 6.1 Nm (8mm wrench, 4mm hex)
M6 - 7.7 ft-lbs = 10.4 Nm (10mm wrench, 5mm hex)

M12 - 64 ft-lbs = 87 Nm (19mm wrench, 10 mm hex)
M16 - 158 ft-lbs = 215 Nm (24mm wrench) -
Are ALL SWR clamps on the drum striped (there should be 4 per line)?
-
Tighten clamps with 4mm Allen to 3.3 Nm = 2.4 ft-lbs = 29 in-lbs and stripe screws. Check box to show completion.
-
Has anything moved?
-
Is the steel wire rope free of ANY damage?
-
Select all damages that apply
- Missing wires
- Broken Wires
- Severe localized abrasion or scraping
- Kinking, crushing, bird caging.
- Evidence of heat damage
- End attachments that are cracked, deformed, or worn to the extent that the strength of the rope is substantially effected
- Severe corrosion of the rope, end attachments, or fittings
-
Tag out and remove from service immediately until problem is resolved. Check to show tag out complete.
-
Did you bleed condensation from air lines?
-
Upon thorough visual inspection are there concerns with ANY of the rigging components holding the load?

Winch Running
-
Is the lead screw properly lubricated?
-
Is there any dirt or contamination in the grease that will cause undue wear on the lead screw?
-
1. Run the winch to fully expose lead screw. 2. Removed old grease. 3. Apply new grease over entire lead screw (shell Retinax EP2 or equivalent). Check box to show completion.
-
Apply more grease as needed (Shell Retinax EP2 or equivalent). Check box to show completion.
-
