Part 2 - VEHICLE CONDITION

  • Do the driver/crew demonstrate an understanding of safe reversing and overload avoidance procedures?

  • Is the vehicle equipped with information for Users?

  • Is the driver able to communicate with the Contractor’s office?

Part 4 - VEHICLE OPERATIONS

  • Was the vehicle traveling on the correct side of the road?

  • Was the vehicle observed driving on a nature strip or pedestrian path?

  • Was the vehicle observed reversing in a safe manner?

  • Was the vehicle operated in a smooth manner?

  • If the driver left the vehicle, was it parked in an appropriate position?

Part 5 - CREW BEHAVIOUR

  • Are crew members wearing appropriate PPE? (safety vests, gloves, footwear, ear protection)

  • Was the crew suitably dressed if working in strong sunlight?

  • Were the collections being made only along the left side of the street?

  • Are crew members clear of operating lift and/or compacting mechanisms?

  • Are crew members able to perform tasks at walking pace?

  • Are manual lifts being performed safely?

  • Are bins correctly replaced on nature strip?

  • Is non-conforming material being labeled advising residents of required practice?

  • Did the crew clean up any spilt material?

  • Approximately how long were the operations observed?

  • Approximately how many collections were observed?

  • What were the weather conditions during the period?
