START OF SHIFT

Task

  • Sign in for your shift on time and attendance machine and sign in on the fire log

  • Meet with the reception team on duty and receive a handover of the days business and any relevant information that will assist you on your shift

  • Collect the duty on call phone ( this is the mobile phone which has the video door bell on it and the grey cordless phone that all the hotel telephone lines divert to at night)

  • Read the handover diary for any important information from management or any other team member

  • Receive all outstanding arrivals from reception ensuring that you have the correct paperwork, key card and payment information required

  • Receive an In house list of all residents in the hotel and their room numbers

  • Receive a list of any guests who have assistant or special requirements ( Peep folder)

FIRE SAFETY

  • Check the fire panel that there is no faults

  • Check the fire panel that you are happy with how to operate and use the panel

  • Check that the "quick guide" is located next to the fire panel

  • Check that you have your "Guest information sign" for reception should the alarm activate

  • Walk the hotel and close all fire doors

  • Lock down all internal area doors that are required to be locked

  • Ensure that all passageways, stores and areas are free from clutter and secure

  • Ensure that all external doors are secure

  • Ensure that the hotel main door is set to locked by 11pm with the code access enabled (Door code is 4567#)

PUBLIC TOILETS

  • Ensure that all toilets are checked, and no guests are hiding in toilets

  • Top up and refresh toilet rolls

  • Clean and sanitise all toilet systems

  • Clean and sanitise all toilet door handles

  • Clean and sanitise sink area

  • Clean and buff mirrors

  • Empty all bins and clean bin top

  • Brush and mop all floors

  • Ensure that all toilets are clean and presentable for guests

PUBLIC AREAS

  • Hoover all carpets in public areas

  • Ensure that all shirting boards are dust free

  • Ensure that all high level lights are dust free

  • Ensure that all bins are emptied

  • Ensure that all sanitiser stations are topped up

  • Ensure that all leaflet information stands are clean and information is presented in an organised manner

  • Ensure that all heating is set to low or is off where applicable

RECEPTION AREA

  • Ensure all bins are emptied

  • Ensure all floors are hoovered / mopped

  • Clean and sanitise all screens and surfaces

CAFE RIO

  • Ensure all bins are emptied

  • Ensure that all table tops, legs and feet are cleaned

  • Ensure that all chairs, and chair legs are cleaned

  • Ensure that the cafĂ© is neat and tidy and set in a presentable manner

  • Remove all old newspapers, leaflets and items that do not need to be there

  • Hoover and mop the floor including the Mezz level

  • Ensure that all lights and heating are turned off when finished

BAR RIO

  • Ensure all bins are emptied

  • Ensure that all table tops, legs and feet are cleaned

  • Ensure that all chairs, and chair legs are cleaned

  • Ensure that the floor area is neat and tidy and set in a presentable manner

  • Remove all old newspapers, leaflets and items that do not need to be there

  • Hoover all floors

  • Mop all floors

  • Ensure that all lights and heating are turned off when finished

BREAKFAST AREA

  • Ensure that all table tops, legs and feet are cleaned

  • Ensure that all chairs, and chair legs are cleaned

  • Ensure that the floor area is neat and tidy and set in a presentable manner

  • Hoover all floors

  • Ensure that all lights and heating are turned off when finished

  • Check the coffee machine is operational and ready for service

  • Ensure that buffet water bath is emptied cleaned and refilled

  • Key Information

  • Whilst on shift you are an ambassador for The Columba Hotel and should always appear in a controlled and confident manner in all situations. You should deal with all matters as they arise promptly and not wait to the last minute to react. If you are unable to resolve the situation or require assistance please contact the manager on call ZRG Extension 114
