A. GENERAL OSHA 1926 Subpart C

  • 1. Colonial Daily Work Permit & Safety Checklist is properly completed, is located on-site, & is being followed

  • 2. JSA performed prior to work. JSA appropriately addresses the hazards of the job & corrective/preventive actions are implemented according to JSA

  • 3. All contract employees have received safety orientation

  • 4. Pre job safety meeting held with contractor(s)

  • 5. Tailgate safety meeting held daily with work crews & documented

  • 6. Competent person assigned to inspect jobsite for safety hazards (OSHA 1926.32(f))

  • 7. Emergency medical information including phone numbers & driving instructions to jobsite for medical response personnel posted & readily available with GPS coordinates (if available). On a voluntary basis, contractors & employees with allergies should be identified (bees, wasps, poison ivy, medications)

  • 8. First aid kit & eyewash adequate for size of the crew & readily available

B. Personal Protective Equipment OSHA 1926 Subpart E

  • 1. Approved hard hats worn & in good condition

  • 2. All employees and contractors are wearing approved safety glasses & additional eye protection as required

  • 3. All employees and contractors are wearing approved foot wear & special purpose foot protection is worn when appropriate

  • 4. General purpose work gloves are being worn to protect against hazards & additional hand protection in use when appropriate

  • 5. Proper fall protection is being used when required

  • 6. Hearing protection is being used when required

  • 7. Proper protective clothing (i.e., FRC, Tyvek) used when warranted

  • 8. Proper respiratory protective equipment worn by qualified workers & proper documentation must be on site or available upon request

C Housekeeping & Sanitation OSHA 1926.25, OSHA 1926.51

  • 1. Portable containers with disposable cups used to dispense drinking water only or bottled water available

  • 2. Adequate toilet facilities (1 facility per 20 employees/contractors per OSHA regulations) or transportation readily available

  • 3. Wash facilities adequate & clean

  • 4. NO SMOKING sign posted or smoking area designated off of Colonial property

  • 5. Approved containers for collection & separation of waste

  • 6. Work area neat & orderly

  • 7. Lunch/eating areas clean & free of food scraps
