  • Should further action be required, within four (4) weeks of the date of this letter Council requires you to submit a plan of action with acceptable timeframes for compliance. All works (unless agreed upon otherwise) should be completed within three (3) months.

  • You should be aware that under the Protection of Environment Operations Act 1997 it is an offense to pollute any waters. Penalties for this offence can be up $120,000 for individuals and $250,000 for corporations. Breaches of this legislation through inappropriate cleaning methods and allowing contaminants to enter the stormwater system may attract a $1,500 on the spot fine or court action for more serious breaches.
