As a driver it is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle you are driving is in a road-worthy condition.
One worn tyre can cost you an on the spot fine of $110 and one point.
Three worn tyres may cost you $220 and three points.
Cracked windscreens, faulty wiper blades and defective lights can also lead to fines and demerit points.
The checklist below will assist you in keeping within the law by ensuring your vehicle is safe during the time period that you are responsible for it.
However each day before using a vehicle you should still complete a visual check of:
Tyres, wipers, lights, mirrors, seat-belts and when safe to do so, check the brakes are working. -
Commence this vehicle checklist at the start of your responsibility. At the end of that period complete the checklist and email to your Manager.
