Daily Crane Inspection:

CHECK OF STEEL CABLES AND MOTOR:

  • Check cable for damages (crushed or broken wires)

  • Check that cable runs correctly on pulleys and on the drum

  • Check motors and gearboxes for leaking oil

CHECK OF HOOK AND ROCKER:

  • If hook type: check that hook has full mobility

  • Check that the hook latch is in working condition

  • If rocker type: Check for damage and anomalies in the rocker

CHECK OF LIFTING LIMIT SWITCH:

  • Check that upper limit switch is working

  • If equipped: check that the lower limit switch is working

CHECK OF CONTROL UNIT:

  • Check that the control unit is not damaged

  • Check that the buttons are in good condition

  • Check that the buttons have the expected function and speed

CHECK OF CAR (BACK/FORTH) AND CRANE (UP/DOWN) BRAKES:

  • Check that car brake sound normal

  • Check that the car stops within the expected distance

  • Check that crane brake sound normal

  • Check that the crane stops within the expected distance

CHECK OF EMERGENCY BUTTON:

  • Ensure that the button is in good condition

  • Ensure that activated EB prevents operation

Signature:

  • Issue maintenance Work Order for irregularities found.

  • For those cranes that are not used daily, they need to be inspected only when they are going to be in use. (i.e. maintenance cranes)
