  • The following is the AJC Group checklist for decommissioning an asset (in general the items are listed in the order they should be implemented):

  • Notify/communicate with current/prior owners/users of server to let them know it will be decommissioned and to determine if imaging/archiving of server is necessary before decommissioning

PREPARATION TO DECANT SERVER

  • Remove any application protocols that monitor the server<br>Confirmed with SUGI+ engineer

  • Server powered down?

  • Power cable removed

  • Network cable removed

  • Server pulled forward in preparation to decant?

RISK MITIGATION

  • No cables contaminating work environment

  • No risk to live services (Asset is not at risk of disturbing live devices)

PHYSICAL SERVER ONLY

  • Send out e-mail to all confirming that server decommissioning has been finished

  • UK ID:

  • Serial Number

  • Asset has been handled correctly and all appropriate steps have been applied to check the asset prior to removal.
