Procedures
- Ladder: Inspect for excessive wear. Use step ladders in fully open position and proper steps only
- Watch your footing. Be aware of slippery areas. Provide clear and we'll lit pathways
- Do not operate aerial lifts without proper training. Only work from platform. Inspect lift before use
- Be aware of all overhead and other adjacent work activities
- PPE: gloves, glasses, hard hat, vest
- Keep work areas clean. All cut pieces of pipe & threaded rod shall be disposed of
- Fall protection shall be provided on areas where a fall hazard is 6 ft or more (guardrails/harness/lanyard/anchor)
- Hot Work: follow procedures on hot work permit. Keep hoses/cords away from high foot traffic areas
- Electrical: Verify Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) is in place. Inspect cords for excessive wear
- Coring: ensure that area below coring operation is flagged and an attendant is in place
- Pinch Points! Wear proper gloves and be aware of hand placement when moving pipe
- Chemical Exposure: review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and GHS Label for specific hazards and PPE use
- Testing: Provide warning signage to inform other trades of areas being tested and type of testing
- Testing: Never try to fix a fitting during any kind of testing (pneumatic/hydrostatic)
- Hoisting&Rigging: inspect all equipment before use, verify loading capacities, discard any defective equipment
