1. Fire Fighting Equipment

  • a. Are all extinguishers in position and clear of obstruction?

  • b. Are all extinguishers ready for use (charged, pins and seals in place) and free from damage?

2. Fire Warning Systems

  • a. Are all fire call points unobstructed and ready for use?

  • b. Have daily fire control panel checks been carried out?

  • c. Have weekly fire alarm tests been carried out?

3. Fire Information

  • a. Are copies of the Fire Action Notices prominently displayed, legible and unobstructed throughout the site (Call points, final exit doors and congregation areas).

4. Means of Esacpe

  • a. Are all escape routes and fire exits clearly indicated (green on white signs)?

  • b. Are all escape routes and fire exits clear and available, free from trip hazards ?

  • c. Do the door devices on all escape routes and fire exits operate satisfactory and are they ready for use at all times?

  • d. Are all external routes clear and in good condition?

5. Electricity

  • a. Are all cables, plugs etc. damage free and trailing cables protected from damage?

6. Housekeeping

  • a. Is housekeeping of a high standard e.g material storage, waste disposal, prompt clean up of spillages etc?
