  • Look for dry creek beds and drainage that only flow after a rain event.

  • If equipment is required to traverse stream beds regularly are temporary bridges installed?

  • Are site roads properly maintained to keep dust from washing down streams?

  • Is there evidence that culverts not large enough to handle the volume of the water flow?

  • Is rip rock properly installed and properly placed?

  • Rip rock can be used to block man made drainage, not a wet weather or flowing stream.

  • Are erosion control matts installed where needed and properly maintained?

  • Is vegetation planted or growing in areas that require growing of vegetation?

  • Are temporary water diversions or pumping diversions set up correctly and properly functioning?

  • Were issues that were noted from the last inspection addressed?

  • List any issues that were discovered and anyone that you spoke with.
