Base

  • Ensure base is level and that cribbing under metal/wood mud sills has not moved.

  • Ensure that perimeter of setup is safe and that appropriate fencing (warning tape, concrete blocks or other type of fencing) is installed to prevent any unauthorized access.

  • Make sure construction traffic is controlled on and around job site (proper barriers installed).

Access

  • Make sure mast are plumb (both side and front axis)

  • Make sure all mast toggle bolts and nuts are in position and fastened properly

  • Make sure wall ties are in good condition and secure (collision with plank or wall tie door can damage ties)

Platform

  • Make sure all safety guardrails are in position and that sliding doors are operational (no fall hazard)

  • Ensure that work and circulation areas on platform are clear of debris

  • Make sure that planking is in good condition and set properly. Make sure that planking clears the building, balconies, etc. and that it is properly supported, overlapped and secured.

  • On special facade shapes, make sure that cross box kits, face guardrails and plank guardrails are properly installed and stable.

  • Make sure that cylinder hooks, secondary hooks and lowering cams are in good condition and functioning properly.

  • Visually inspect the safety hooks and make sure they can move freely.

  • Visually inspect the rollers (32 per motorized unit) and make sure they are all in position and operational. Grease the rollers weekly. Use Prolab GS-100 only.

  • Check all fluid levels including gasoline and replenish if necessary.

  • Before raising or lowering the platform, make sure it clears the building, balconies, etc.

  • Visually inspect the structure and its components and make sure there aren't any damages.

Loads

  • Make sure that loads on the platform do not exceed those prescribed by the capacity charts. Make sure loads are equally distributed.

  • Make sure that all access doors and wall tie doors are clear of material and equipment.

Bridges

  • On linear bearing bridges, make sure there is a 6" to 12" (15cm to 30cm) overlap at each end and that bridge safety chains are tied properly with a slack not exceeding 1" (2,5 cm)

  • On angled bearing bridges, make sure there is proper overlap and that special chains are installed on the bridge and the motorized unit undercarriage.

General

  • Make sure minimum clearance from overhead power lines is maintained according to SIA standards and local regulation.

  • Make sure a legible copy of operator's manual is in tool box.
