Area Designation (where are we dumping?)

  • Is the entrance to the site marked? <br>(The entrance way should be easy to locate from the street)

  • Is the driver easily directed to the dump point?<br>(The driver should be able to find their way to the dump point on site)<br>

  • Does the site have established haul roads for trucks? <br>(Drivers should have a route to get to and from the dump point)

  • Are the haul roads in good condition?<br>(Haul roads should be level, compacted, bermed with adequate traffic control)

  • Is the dump point easily identified? <br>(Precise zone where material will be unloaded should be clear to the driver)

Environment Controlled (How are the dumping conditions?)

  • Is the area free of overhead power lines?<br>(Drivers are not permitted to dump within 6 meters of overhead lines)

  • Is the area around the dump point clear?<br>(Area surrounding dump points should have adequate clearance)<br>

  • Is there a flagman / signaller available to direct trucks into position at the dump point?<br>(The flagman / signaller should be present if trucks are required to reverse into position)

  • Are the ground conditions at the dump point adequate for safe unloading of material? <br>(Ground conditions should be level, firm/compact)

  • Are the grade conditions at the dump locations adequate for safe unloading of material? <br>(Grade should be as minimal as possible)

Dispatch and Logistics (How is the delivery coordinated?)

  • Are the directions on the delivery ticket accurate?<br>(The driver should easily find the project site from the delivery instructions)

  • Are site conditions protected from changes in weather?<br>(Wet conditions can compromise ground stability making it unsafe for truck dumping)

  • Is the customer able to stockpile material? <br>(Some customers are service sensitive and use material as it is delivered)
