Thermal Camera (FLIR E6)

  • The FLIR E6 is the only camera to be used for this inspection. Refer to the operating sheet supplied. The camera is designed to identify potential "hot spots" for further investigation. The camera is Pre-Set and simply needs to be turned on and the lens shutter opened.

DOCK & COUNTING-IN

  • Individually check each sling load, hung bags, cart at the end of the production day with a thermal imaging camera. Any sling/laundry cart that has an area of concern (over 50 oC) is to be investigated further. Remember the camera does not see inside bundles or loads of product. You need to open the product up to get a temperature reading in some cases.

  • If there is product that is smoldering, smoking or has a burning smell it must be removed from the building if it can be done safely and with a minimum 2 persons.

  • In checking the area is there any product that requires further investigation

  • Check to see that the internal temperature does not exceed 65 Deg C

  • Ensure you get assistance prior to removing the product to a safe area

  • If the item of concern cannot be safely removed from the building and is smoldering or has a burning smell, and you can not wet down with a fire hose call 000 (fire department) immediately and stand by with a hose and/or fire extinguisher(s).

WASHROOM & DRYERS

  • Individually check each sling load, hung bags, cart at the end of the production day with a thermal imaging camera. MICRO-FIBER

  • Micro-Fiber has a high risk of fire, It is critical no Micro-Fiber is stored in trolleys or slings after drying.

  • There is no Micro-Fiber towels stored after drying and before pack-out.

  • Remove Micro-Fiber to outside the plant in a well ventilated area and away from the side of the building.

IRONERS FRONT & BACK

  • Individually check each SLING LOAD, CART, REWASH TUB at the end of the production day with a thermal imaging camera. Any sling/laundry cart that has an area of concern (over 50 oC), is smoldering, smoking or has a burning smell must be removed from the building if it can be done safely and with a minimum 2 persons. Remember the camera does not see inside bundles or loads of product. You need to open the product up to get a temperature reading in some cases.

Remember the camera does not see inside bundles or loads of product. You need to open the product up to get a temperature reading in some cases.
