Hustler Raptor XDX

  • Operator is wearing appropriate PPE

  • Operator has completed all required safety training

  • Operator has all required PPE: steel capped boots, long pants, hearing protection, eye protection, safety googles with side shields, sun safety

  • Verify safety start interlock system

  • All safety guards, shields and covers are in place

  • Mower blades sharp and securely fastened

  • Tyres visually inspected

  • Check oil level, engine

  • There are no loose bolts, fasteners or damaged parts

  • There is sufficient fuel for operation and no evidence of fuel leaks

  • the engine compartment, top of the deck, exhaust area, battery, fuel line, fuel tank and operator’s station are clean and free of grass clippings, and other debris.

  • A site inspection has been conducted and areas unsuitable for Raptor, such as near slopes, retaining walls, drop offs, embankments, draining ditches and water have been identified

  • The raptor will not be operating on slopes greater than 15 degrees

  • Safety barriers in place to prevent bystanders/children/other workers coming into Raptor operating area

Honda HHB25 Blower

  • Operator has completed all safety training

  • Operator is trained and competent in the use of the blower

  • All PPE in use, including long sleeved shirt, long pants, googles, helmet, face shield, ear protection, safety gloves, steel capped boots, dust mask

  • Blower visually inspected for any damage and looseness of fastening parts

  • No evidence of oil or gasoline leaks

  • Terrain has been examined, no steep slopes or slippery ground

  • Blower is not being operated in a confined or partially enclosed area, or near open windows or doors (risk of carbon monoxide poisoning)

  • Safety barriers in place to prevent others and pets from coming near the blower

  • Blower has sufficient fuel

  • Engine oil checked

  • Air cleaner, throttle level, nuts, bolts and fasteners checked

Honda 1.1hp Brush Cutter (Bike Model)

  • Operator has completed all required safety training

  • Operator is trained and competent in the use of the brush cutter

  • Area has been inspected for any debris, stones, branches, wire etc have been removed

  • Safety barriers in place to prevent other persons or pets being within trimmer operating area

  • All PPE in use, including long sleeved shirt, long pants, googles, helmet, face shield, ear protection, safety gloves, steel capped boots, dust mask.

  • Engine oil level checked

  • Fuel levels checked

  • Air cleaner checked

  • Throttle cable checked

  • Quick-release latch checked

  • Cutting attachment checked

  • Blades inspected for wear and damage, blade nut tightened (wear gloves during inspection)

  • Debris shield intact and in place

  • All nuts and bolts tightened

  • Engine will not be operated in a confined space

Honda Buff Pro Blade Brake M&C Mower

  • Operator has completed all required safety training

  • Operator is trained and competent in the use of the mower

  • All PPE in use, including long sleeved shirt, long pants, googles, helmet, face shield, ear protection, safety gloves, steel capped boots, dust mask.

  • Area has been inspected for any debris, stones, branches, wire etc have been removed

  • Safety barriers in place to prevent other persons, children, pets entering the mowing area

  • Area has been inspected for excessive slopes (more than 20 degrees)

  • Grass is dry

  • Disconnect spark plug cap and then inspect cutter blades for damage or excessive wear

  • Check engine oil levels

  • Mower has sufficient fuel

  • Ensure air filters are clean and in good condition

  • Inspect grass catcher for holes, cracks and excessive wear

Electrical Safety

  • Do you wish to examine electrical safety on this safety walk?

  • Extension Cords are not causing trip hazards or used inappropriately

  • Power Tools are undamaged and being used fit for purpose

Personnel

  • Do you wish to check personnel and this safety walk?

  • Behavior is orderly and professional

  • Clear communication is possible without needing to shout

  • Proper lifting technique demonstrated

  • There is no evidence that any participants are under the influence of alcohol or other substances

  • There is no evidence that workers are fatigued
