Distinguish between what is needed and not needed

Cleaning, and looking for ways to keep it clean and orginized

  • Are the floors relatively clean and free of debris?

  • Have the scrap bins been emptied on a regular bases?

  • Are signs, labels, legible, not broken and free of dirt or other?

  • Are other cleaning problems present?

Standardize (adherence)

Maintain and Monitor the first three catagories

  • Is necessary information available? Communication board, etc

  • Are checklist available for cleaning and maintenance?

  • Are necessary tools easily located in a short amount of time

  • Have daily 5s checklist been performed

  • Have personal belongings been properly stored?
