Questions to answer before gib goes up

  • Check all Pef rod is in and all jambs are ok

  • Check the walls have been planned and kitchen and bathrooms are square. Check Plumb

  • Check light switches are far enough away from architrave and skirting. also 90mm away from the end of any brace

  • Check power point for garage is in the right place

  • Check insulation is in all the right places, as per addendum

  • Check cladding is complete and the roof is finished, including cap flashings

  • Check hearth and fire place is built to addendum or owners request

  • Check nogs are in for the cavity sliders where walls butt up to the pocket

  • Check nogs are in for the showers, around the base, and the nogs for the rangehood

  • Book screed for showers, so they are done early

  • Check the plumbing and electrical are in the right place in the kitchen, pipes in the ground are coming up the in right place<br>Any water in the conduit pipe is cleaned out

  • Check if there is a bulk head required in the kitchen plans, if there is bracing in the wall, do it after the gib has gone up. So make sure there is nogs in place to take the future bulk head

  • Check nogs around all rafters have been complete for the arch beed. Exposed beam areas

  • Check the metal corners are in the tiled showers, and nailed off at 300mm centers

  • Check bath cradle is in place and the nogs are done for the gib, and if it has been hooked up

  • Check all ceiling battens are complete, and any cove roof areas there is enough room for the gib guys to nail off the sheet

  • Check stack pipes have been boxed out, and have insulation around them if it will be heard

  • Check little wall is build under stairs for the height of the skirting to go around

  • Make sure electrician has done a walk through with the owner

  • Check meter boards are not in bracing panels, if so. Do minor amendment

  • Check handrail capping is on stairs and void area, if not write in crayon to leave 5mm above

  • Check stairs have been screwed off and nogs are in at 800mm center from the front of the step for the handrail

  • Make sure there is no penetrations coming into contact with any future downpipes

  • Check all correct materials are installed as per the addendum and any VOs that the clients have signed off

  • Take photos of all pipes in walls, and anything else important. Eg, stack pipes, mains cable, meter board wires

  • Make any important notes here
