Magellan pre start check/ risk assessment

Are SWMS present for the task and has all Magellan staff read and understood them

Have all onsite inductions been completed with all team members having relevant, current qualifications on hand

Are all anchor points or points of attachment within their test date and in a good working order

Will all primary anchors sustain a force of at least 12KN and have any diverting anchors been checked for adequate strength

Are two independent rope anchors being used by each person

Does the team feel safe that work zone is free from live power or powerlines

Have all areas of work including anchor points been clearly de marked or barricaded from general public and any others trades working near by

Do all Magellan staff onsite have all appropriate PPE and is all in a good working order and within its expire dates

Has all onsite team members been trained in the safe use of a full bodied harness and is all approved fall protection being used within 3m of a dangerous edge

Have all team members checked their ropes for any wear and tear and are they adequate for the proposed works, touching the landing site and stopper knots or similar been applied

Are all members attaching to both ropes before suspending themselves

Are all members of the team using a "dead man", hands off type descender

Have all edge protection devises as well as any rope protection devises (for any grinding or similar type jobs) been applied and are they in good safe working order

Have all tool been appropriately attached via lanyard system so there is no chance of falling or coming loose

Have all tools / equipment over 8kg been suspended separately

Have all pockets been emptied of any loose items and all mobile phone type devises been attached to worker via approved case with lanyard

Have all members of the team had enough rest and are free from fatigue

Are all members of the team free from and drugs and alcohol

Have any power tools been taken to site from Magellan warehouse if any have please list in notes
