Pre Use Checklist

  • Safe Operation: I have read the Standard Operating Procedure and understand how to safely use the Metal Saw.

  • Correct PPE: Ensure you are wearing the correct PPE before operating the machinery. The correct PPE includes safety boots, safety glasses, hi-vis clothing, safety gloves and hearing protection.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure workspace and walkways are free of any trip and fall hazards.

  • Pre Use Check: Check and ensure all guarding is in place and in good condition. **Do not operate if guards or missing or faulty**

  • Pre Use Check: Check and ensure the blade is in a good working condition. Replace the blade if it is broken or it has deteriorated.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure the blade tension is set correctly before use. **Never adjust the tension of the blade whilst cutting**

  • Pre Use Check: Test the emergency stop button to ensure it is functioning correctly before use.

  • Pre Use Check: Visually check the wiring for any signs of wear or damage.

  • Pre Use Check: Check the coolant level and ensure it is at the appropriate concentration. Refill if required.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure the machine frame and structure are stable and in good condition.

  • Pre Use Check: Verify that all electrical components, including switches, buttons, and lights, are functioning properly.

  • Note: Keep your hands clear of the saw blade and work pieces when the saw is in operation. Stand 2 metres away from the saw when in operation.

  • Note: You must stand in front of the control panel when the machine is in operation. Only during loading/unloading of the material, you can be located laterally to the machine.
