PRE-SHIFT INSPECTION: Before use each day or at the beginning of each shift, the aerial platform shall be given a visual inspection and functional test including but not limited to the following:

Operating and emergency controls

Personal protective devices, including fall protection

Air, hydraulic and fuel systems leaks

Cables and wiring harness

Loose or missing parts

Tires and wheels

Placards, warnings, control markings and operating manual(s)

Outriggers, stabilizers, extendible axles and other structures

Guard rail system

Items specified by manufacturer
