Non-compliance with the requirements of the ILO Maritime Labour Convention (MLC-2006) is becoming an increasingly common reason for Port State Control (PSC) to detain a vessel on this grounds in addition to defective or missing equipment or records, which have been identified as reasons for detention for some time.
