  • Have competent persons been in charge of erection / installation ?

  • Is a copy of the manufactures assembly instruction available ?

  • Are the castors of suitable size with effective locking devices ?

  • Do the castors roll freely & lock securely ?

  • Is the maximum permitted load ( MPL ) of the scaffold known ?

  • Has the MPL been communicated to all users / potential user ?

  • is the ground location capable of taking the combined weight of the scaffold and its loading ?

  • Is the tower level or plumb ?

  • Is the tower height less than 4 times the minimum base width ?

  • Is the tower braced on all sides ?

  • Have stabilisers / outriggers been fixed to the tower ?

  • Have the stabalisers / outriggers in firm contact with the ground ?

  • Are the stabilisers / outriggers at full spread to maximise stability ?

  • Are the guardrails and the toe boards installed and secured ?

  • Is the working platform board correctly located with the access hatch adjacent to the internal ladder 0r staircase ?

  • Is the scaff tag clearly displayed and in date if complete and fit for purpose ?

  • If the scaff tag is incomplete or has been inspected within the last 7 days has the scaff tag been removed ?
