INSPECTION:

  • What communication systems do the contractors have in place?

  • Has an Emergency Response Card of contact numbers been distributed to the Contractors?

  • Has the drill rig and all ancillary vehicles been cleaned before arriving on site?

  • Will there be any drilling conducted along public roads?

  • Please ensure that all drill crews and exploration crews have been briefed on the risks and appropriate controls to be undertaken when working along public roads. Refer back to the Traffic management plan. If you are unsure cease work immediately and contact the program supervisor.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

  • Are hard hats issued and free from cracks/damage?

  • Is there a fire suppression unit?

  • Has it been serviced within the last 12 months?

  • Do all labels, gauges, and warnings on the operators console appear clean and legible?

  • Do ALL belts, pulleys, rotating and / or moving parts appear appropriately guarded? (Note: guards should prevent persons from touching moving parts).

  • Does any guarding appear to have jagged edges, protruding wire mesh (etc.) which may cause injury?

  • Are all high-pressure hoses fitted with whip checks / Hose Restraints?

  • Do any high-pressure hoses appear to be rubbing on sharp edges?

  • Is the rig fitted with clearly labelled emergency stop buttons?
