Section 4

Power

  • a. Power from a minimum of two Low Ohmic Distribution (LOD) panels

  • b. LOD to HC-PDP requires two 125 amp circuit breakers at the LOD panel

  • c. Left hand cables feeding from left hand side of rack. Cables not bunched interrupting air flow on sides of rack.

  • d. Right hand cables feeding from right hand side of rack Cables not bunched interrupting air flow on sides of rack.

Section 5

Power Cables

  • a. No excess power cable is stored in power tray.

  • b. Power cables tied to inside of the rack down the Left hand side when feeding the Left terminals, viewed from the rear of the rack.

  • c. Power cables tied to inside of the rack down the right hand side when feeding the right terminals, viewed from the rear of the rack.

  • d. Power cables have crimped double ringed cable lugs connected and secured to terminal screws on the rear of the subrack.

  • e. Power cable are the correct size, should now be 16 mm twin power cable and must be installed between the HC-PDP and the Tellabs power blocks (was 6mm)

  • f. Power cables are cable tied side by side to the cable tray of the rack (should not be cable tied in a bunch)

  • g. Plastic cover for the DC power blocks is fitted

Section 6

MSE Subrack

Comms Cables and BITS clocks

  • a. BITS Clock Cable; Tellabs 8840 router requires two direct separate Building Integrated Timing Supply (BITS) clock feeds per node.

  • b. Ensure the BITS Clock cable is terminated at the DDF

  • c. Screen/Drain Wire of BITS Clock Cable from Router must not be Earthed/terminate at the DDF

  • d. Cables labelled correctly

  • e. Two screened cables for BITS clock shall be cabled and tied to the rear right hand side cable tray of the rack. Ensure that there is separation from DC power cables

Section 10

Comms Cable Management connection

  • a. CAT5 cable that connects to the rear serial RS-232 port of the MSE 8840 router shall have approx 2 meter’s of slack coiled up. It is to be connected to Serial RS-232 port with a DB-9 at the rear of the chassis. The other end of the cable is to connect to a serial port on the OOB Cisco 2511 terminal server

  • b. Serial DB9 and Ethernet RJ45 management cables shall be cabled and tied to the rear left hand side cable tray of the rack.

  • c. Ensure that there is separation from the DC power cables

  • d. Cables labelled correctly with Brady labels
