Undercover Carparks

  • Were the pipes, vents & signs clean? Examine the pipes, vents and signs (the size of 20 bays/car spaces). This includes any down pipes, exposed ceiling pipes, air vents and air conditioning vents and directional signage. <br><br>Answer YES if;<br>a) 80% of surfaces from each item (pipe, vents and signs) are free from a build up of dirt, dust, grime, scale, mould, mildew, rust stains, water marks or calcium and cobwebs (build up is considered greater than 2mm);<br><br>AND<br>b) There is not a build up of bird droppings greater than 10cm2<br>c) There is no graffiti<br><br>Answer NA if there is no undercover section or there were no pipes or vents in the area you audited.

  • Were the columns/pylons clean? Examine the columns and pylons (the size of 20 bays/car spaces). If shade cloths are installed, audit the support poles as for columns. <br><br>Answer YES if;<br>a) 80% of the surfaces of each item (column/pylon) are free from a build up of dirt, dust, grime, scale, mould, mildew, rust stains, water marks or calcium and cobwebs (build up is considered greater than 2mm);<br><br>AND<br>b) There is not a build up of bird droppings greater than 10cm2<br>c) There is no graffiti<br><br>Answer NA if there was no under cover section or there were no columns or pylons in the area you audited.

  • Are the walls and doors clean? Inspect a section of car park that contains a wall and door. Entrances

  • Is the footpath and/or stairs, bollards and lights at the centre entrance clean? Please inspect 2 centre entrances and assess entry walls, doors, door handles, door hinges, door frames and glass. <br><br>Answer YES if: the wall, door, frames, handles, hinges and glass are:<br>a) Free from streaks, smears or marks longer than 5cm<br>b) Free from more than 2 hand prints<br>c) Free from a visible build-up of dust or grime covering more than 10% of the fitting, door, wall or glass<br>d) Free from graffiti<br>e) Free from visible past cleaning attempts<br>f) Free of cobwebs

  • Are the rubbish bins clean? Inspect 2 centre entrances and assess bins at each entrance audited. <br><br>Answer YES if: <br>a) Bins are not overflowing<br>b) The outside of bin is not stained or marked with more than 2 dirty marks greater than 5cm on the base, sides or top<br>c) There are no more than 10 cigarette butts on the bin lid (outside bins only)<br>d) The bins have a bin liner in place<br>e) There is no offensive odour emanating from the bin<br>f) The bin does not have visible dust or grime build up on the base, sides or top<br><br>Mark NA if there is no bin at the entrance.

  • Is the entry mat clean? Inspect 2 centre entrances and assess entry mat.<br><br>Answer YES if the entry mat (internal and external if mat is on either side of door):<br>a) There is no litter on mat<br>b) Does not have a visible build up of dust or dirt (looks like it needs a vacuum)<br>c) Has less 2 or less deep rooted chewing gum spots

General Mall

  • Are the floors and carpet areas clean? Inspect the cleanliness of the floor (floor area the length of 20 stores).<br><br>Answer YES if there are 3 or less of the following:<br>a) Litter<br>b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc)<br>c) Dry spills (fries, lollies etc) <br>d) Dust/fluff balls greater than 1 cm x 1cm<br>e) Stains on carpet<br>f) Scuff marks on floors greater than 10cm <br>g) Tiles polished to a high lustre PLUS<br>h) The mall skirting boards are free of dust or grime build-up (excluding retailers)

  • Are the balustrades clean? Inspect the balustrades on the level you are on, including glass, metal/wrought iron, timber and combination balustrades.<br><br>Answer YES if: All balustrades observed were free from:<br>a) Scale, mould or mildew<br>b) Cleaning product build up<br>c) Smears, splashes or stains larger than 5cm<br>d) More than 2 handprint per panel<br>e) Cobwebs, dead insects, dust or dirt build up<br>f) Visible dust build-up on ledges <br><br>Answer NA if the centre has no balustrades in that level of the general mall.

  • Are directional signage, advertising signage, directory boards, payphones and ATM's clean? Inspect the following;<br> - Directional signage (including free standing store directions and electronic signage<br> - Advertising signage <br> - Directory boards<br> - ATM's and <br> - Payphones <br><br>Answer YES if all directional and advertising signage, directory boards, ATM's and payphones are free from:<br>a) Scale, mould or mildew<br>b) Cleaning product build up<br>c) Smears, splashes or stains larger than 5cm<br>d) Cobwebs, dead insects, dust or dirt build up

  • Are coffee tables and seats within the general mall seating areas clean and well presented? Inspect customer mall furniture . This includes seating pods or individual tables and chairs but excludes retailer furniture. <br><br>Answer YES if each seating area has no more than 1 of the following (in total):<br>a) Papers, wrappers , plastic / paper bags, drink bottles or cups<br>b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc)<br>c) Dry spills (fries, gum, lollies etc)<br>d) Visible dust or dirt build up in corners or seams; PLUS<br>e) The carpeted area at seating areas is free of dust, fluff balls, dirt build up and does not look like carpet area needs vacuuming<br>f) Furniture is well presented i.e. furniture is placed neatly and proportionately in the specified area, e.g. on a rug.

  • Is the play world / playtown clean and free from rubbish? Please examine the Play world in the assessment zone. <br><br>Answer YES if: the Play world you visited is free from the following:<br>a) More than 2 pieces of litter such as papers, plastic bags, paper bags, drink bottles or cups, wrappers or any other form of rubbish<br>b) Liquid spills (drinks, water, etc)<br>c) Dry spills (food scraps, crumbs, sultanas, crackers, etc)<br>d) Dust, grime or dirt build up on the play surfaces and in corners and/or between vinyl netting<br>e) Handprints and build up of dirt and smears on doors, panels and signage

Restrooms

  • Are the ceiling, ceiling vents and lights clean? Inspect the ceiling, ceiling vents, lights and pipes in the restroom. Ceiling vents include extractor fans and air conditioning vents.<br><br>Answer YES if: all ceiling surfaces, vents, pipes and lights are free from:<br>a) Build up of dirt or grime in corners<br>b) Cobwebs, dead insects or hair balls<br>c) Visible dust build-up covering more than 10% of each item (ceiling, vents or lights) and more than 1mm thick<br>d) Scuffs or smears longer than 5cm<br>e) Discolouration or stains measuring more than 5cm in diameter<br>f) Cleaning product build up

  • Are the mirrors, taps, basins & bench tops clean? Inspect the mirrors, taps, basins, bench tops and change tables in the rest room. <br><br>Answer YES if: all mirrors, taps, basins, bench tops and change tables meet the standard below.<br>a) Bench tops free from soap overflow greater than 2cm <br>b) Bench tops free from puddles covering an area of 15cm in diameter<br>c) Vanity mirrors free from visible dirt, hairs, dust and make-up (female rest rooms)<br>d) Basins free of smears, soap residue and marks greater than 3cm in length<br>e) Basins are free of dust build up<br>f) Basin drains and taps surrounds free from scale, mould or grime build-up<br>g) Mirrors free from dust and the corners are free from a build up of grime<br>h) Mirrors are free from more than 2 marks and smears greater that 2cm in length<br><br>Note: Bench tops are where the hand wash basins are located, vanities are where the make-up mirrors are located in the female toilets.

  • Are the bins clean, have capacity for more rubbish and lined with the correct bin liner? Inspect rubbish bins in the restroom.<br><br>Answer YES if: rubbish bins were:<br>a) Free from visible dust, grime, dirt, spills or smears<br>b) Free from discolouration or graffiti<br>c) Free from unpleasant odour; and<br>d) Bin liner in place, secured to the bin and fits the size of the bin.

  • Are the rest room toilet bowls, toilet seats, urinals and wall tiles under urinals clean? Check all unattended cubicles in the restroom.<br><br>Answer YES if: all unattended toilet bowls, seats & urinals are free from:<br>a) A build-up of stains, residue or debris <br>b) A build up of uric acid greater than 4cm on tiles or fittings<br>c) Build up of dust

  • Are toilet paper, soap and hand towel dispensers in the restroom clean and well stocked? Check all toilet paper, soap and paper hand towel dispensers in the restroom (check unattended cubicles and soap dispensers).<br><br>Answer YES if: all toilet paper, soap and paper hand towel dispensers are:<br>a) Free from smears greater than 5cm long<br>b) Free from visible build-up of dust; <br>c) Well stocked:<br> - At least a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper available in each cubicle<br> - Hand soap available in each dispenser<br> - Paper towels available in at least 50% of dispensers (where hand towel dispensers are provided)

  • Does the restroom have a pleasant odour? Answer YES if: upon entry to the restroom:<br>a) There is no unpleasant or offensive odour lingering throughout the entire restroom

Perimeter

  • Are the external walls, doors and door frames clean? Inspect a section of the external building that contains a wall and door. This does not include public centre entry doors or the car park but may include emergency exit doors spilling to the buildings perimeter (not retailer doors).<br><br>Answer YES if: The wall and door assessed is free from:<br>a) Build up of scale, mould or mildew<br>b) Build-up of dust, dirt, smears or hand prints<br>c) Discolouration or stains<br>d) Graffiti<br>e) Cobwebs, dead insects or bird droppings

  • Are the lights clean? Please examine lights in the area being audited. Typically these will be lights secured to the outside of the building.<br><br>Answer YES if: <br>a)10% of the light fitting is free from cobwebs or dead insects<br>

  • Are external garden beds, planters clean ? Inspect <br>garden beds, planters and pot plants. This includes fixed pot plants, large planters and garden beds but does not include nature strips or council property. <br><br><br>Answer YES if: Garden bed, planter or pot is free from more than 3 of the following items:<br>a) Papers, receipts or wrappers<br>b) Gum or cigarette butts (5 cigarette butts = 1 piece of litter)<br>c) Food scraps, bottles or other litter <br><br>Answer NA and assign full points if there are no gardens or plants in the section of perimeter you have assessed.

  • Was the exit to the Car Park clean and well presented? Inspect the entrance to the car park area (street section). The entry is the foot path area to the entrance of the car park. <br><br>Answer YES if: There are no more than 3 of the following:<br>a) Papers or plastic bags<br>b) Liquid spills (drinks, water etc)<br>c) Dry spills (fries, lollies etc)<br>d) More than 3 cigarette butts<br>e) Any other form of rubbish <br>AND<br>f) There is not significant build up of dirt greater than 20cm x 20 cm
