1.0 PRE-CONSTRUCTION CHECKS

  • 1.1 l Design l Termination Assembly as per latest IFC Drawings and Standard Drawings

2.0 MATERIALS

  • 2.1 l Components l All components free of cracks and burrs and visually inspected for any defects.

  • 2.2 l Wire Rope l Wire rope free of defects, kinks, damaged strands. Free ends to be hot fused to prevent splaying.

  • 2.3 l Weights l Weights Installed as per system requirements and design tension

  • 2.3 a) Contact Tension

  • 2.3 b) Catenary Tension

  • 2.4 l Insulators l Insulators clean from dirt and mud and visually inspected for cracks and other defects

3.0 INSTALLATION

  • 3.1 l BW Wheel l Brackets Vertical alignment of the swivel frame pin and wire rope, Ensure top and bottom horizontal guide tube brackets have NO offset,BW wheel brackets to be exactly horizontal to ensure vertical alignment for wire rope.

  • 3.2 l Wire Rope l Wire rope correctly wound onto weight wheel and not fouling edge or crossing. Bulldog grips installed on the free ends at the wheel to ensure no slipping.

  • 3.3 l Ratio/ Turns l Horizontal rope terminating aerial conductor has 1.5 turns around small shaft. Vertical rope holding weights has 1.75 turns around outer groove

  • 3.4 l Weight Wheel l Weight wheel is free of swivel frame and free to rotate

  • 3.5 l Fastenings l Bolts, nuts, pins secured & checked tight

  • 3.5 l Clearance l Enough extra rope is used to ensure thimble and stirrup do not clash with wheel

  • 3.6 l Weights l Weights move freely on guide rod. Nut at bottom of weights intact and weights secure. Bulldog grip installed on weight rod above weights

  • 3.7 l Moving Parts l All moving joints and wire rope to be greased

4.0 AS-BUILT INSPECTION

  • 4.1 l Insulators l Correct Insulator used. Insulators installed at correct distance from anchor as per IFC drawings.

  • 4.2 l Guide Rod l Dimension Y within tolerance (±250mm)

  • Ambient Temperature

  • Ambient Temperature

  • 4.3 l Design Change l Alterations to design captured in RFI

  • 4.4 l Non-Conformance l Design changes not captured in RFIs must be captured in NCR
