Engine & Compressor

  • Each of the items on the checklist must be checked off before turning on any equipment

  • Check engine oil level. Top off with 15w40 API Class CF or better

  • Check antifreeze - top off with 50/50 mix long life coolant

  • Check fuel/water separator for water. Drain if necessary.

  • Check fuel level - top off with CLEAN #2 Diesel

  • Check engine and compressor air filter restriction gauges - clean or replace filters as needed

  • Check compressor oil level - top off with Sigma S-460 fluid

  • Check fan belt tension

  • Check battery cables

  • Check for oil and antifreeze leaks

Blasting Equipment

  • Verified that blast equipment is on level ground

  • Filled the water tank with CLEAN water and added proper ratio of Hold Tight (50:1)

  • Ensured that the pot is clean and free of any internal debris

  • Checked piston lube oil on pump. Add TSL(throat seal liquid) as needed

  • Ensured that all valves on compressor and blast machine are in CLOSED position. 1) Air supply valve, 2) Abrasive valve, 3) Dump valve, 4) Rinse valve, and 5) Water supply valve

  • Ensured that E-Stop is engaged

  • Ensured that the Selector Valve is set to RINSE/OFF

  • Ensured that Metering Valve is CLOSED

  • Checked blast hoses and supply hoses for extensive wear. Replace if necessary.

  • Checked rubber gaskets in each hose connection. Replace if necessary.

  • Installed whip checks and pins at each hose connection both to supply and blast hoses

  • Verified dead man controls are connected properly and are in good working condition

  • Ensured that the blast hose is positioned as straight as possible with minimal bends

  • Checked the nozzle for cracks or breaks to interior lining. If broken, DO NOT USE!
