4. Processes

4.1 Problem Bag Lane

  • Problem Bag Lanes:<br>Check all IT/IM equipment, PC's Monitors, Scanners and system links are fully operational?

  • Visual Check Bag: for any old tags (multi tags) if there is any have them removed?

  • Un-resolved bag - link to original flight in BHS system. If a bag has No BSM link to VI dummy flight. Un-resolved bags to be called out periodically to re-investigate.

  • Tag Less Bag: Visually check bag for any identification. If any ID found on the bag use all the available systems to determine owner and ID tag number. <br>If able to ID unique passenger reprint tag and attach to bag.<br>If unable to define unique passenger and bag is still live, link to flight and gate comment for passenger to ID bag. <br>If bag has missed re- flight as per training.<br>If no ID found on bag send to Customs Hall.

  • Crew Bags: is process being followed?

  • Lv4 Bags: roll up the original tag.<br>- Delete the original tag from DCS,<br>- Enter the limited release tag into DCS,<br>- Place a comment ( not gate comment) under the passengers name in DCS as follows: 1C/**TAG NO BA123456 CHANGED AT LHR DUE TO SYSTEM ISSUES***NEW TAG BA876543***.

  • Arrange to show Team member the Lane Report: to see number of bags processed.

4.2 Problem Bag Office

  • Check all IT/IM equipment, PC, Monitors, Phone and system links are fully operational.

  • SMPBA: any bags processed must be recorded on the OC-BA or BA- BA remote UTL sheet for audit purposes.<br>- Check UTL sheets - Tag number<br>- No BSM (bags with no names to be sent to the lanes)

  • FLY MayFly: Both inbound and outbound flights being Checked?

  • Outbound UTL?<br>- record bags processed on UTL sheets.

  • Any phone calls to Head of stand?

  • ASCEND: Ask Team Member to sign into ASCEND to check for outstanding lessons?

4.3 Reconciliation Support Office:
