General Discussion

Hazard Management Discussion

  • Discuss hazards that may be created by the Contractor and proposed controls

  • Discuss hazards that the contractor may be exposed to while working onslte e.g. underground cables, chemicals, biological, moving machinery or vehicles on slte

  • HighlIght site Asbestos Management Pian. Discuss how the area is managed and requirements for safety

  • Consult and Inform with Work Area Manager or Deputy prior to carrying out work (refer to door signage for names of Manager and Deputy)

Emergency Management

  • Discuss emergency procedures; fire alarm, evacuation, location of assembly points, fire extinguishers, first aid & defibrillators<br>Note - If contractors are working in remote locations (far side of orchard/farm) then they may need to ensure they have a registered first aider, first aid kit and defibrillator available.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Discuss any PPE requirements eg covered in shoes in laboratories, hi-vis in field.

Work Permits Permits to Work are required prior to commencing work for the following activities:

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Hot Work

  • Permit to work in Containment Facility

Incident Reporting and InvestigatIon

  • Discuss the responsibility and importance of reporting all accidents and incident (near misses) to the PFR Engaging Supervisor and completion of documentation as required.

  • Notifiable Events to be reported immediately to Engaging Supervisor or site administrator

  • Damage to property for PFR's attention.

Security Incident

  • Security the site (opening and locking up)

  • Security incident (suspicious behaviour, threats)

Waste Disposal

  • Discuss area and method for disposing of waste material and general cleaning up

Qualifications/Training

  • Appropriate trade qualification or training for the work. Copies obtained eg working at heights, electrical certificates etc.

  • I am not permitted to take any photographs, videos or other images, or take any notes, without the express approval of my PFR host

  • As a visitor to PFR I may see, hear, have access to, or come across confidential information of a scientific or commercially sensitive nature relating to PFR's business ("Confidential Information"). The Confidential Information is not to be copied, disclosed to any other person, or removed from PFR's premises without PFR's prior written approval. These conditions will continue after the period of my visit to PFR, until such time as the Confidential Information lawfully enters the public domain.
