Introduction

Toolkit Items Required

BEDROOMS

Room Tidiness & Cleanliness - is it free of clutter and is it generally clean? Is the room free of any bad odours?
Fire Door, lock, seal & hinge - check the thumb turn lock is engaging, the fire door seal is without damage, and that the door closes fully without obstruction
Walls & Ceiling - check for any evidence of marks, damp or mould
Window sills and window condition - check for evidence of condensation, damp or mould. Check trickle vents are open
Curtain rail / blinds - check for any damage
Window and door fire escape routes clear - check window egress (if applicable) opens fully, and any fire escape routes are clear of items
Carpets - check for stains, fraying or damage
Furniture - check drawers runners and handles are without damage, beds slats in place / ottoman bed lifts up, any general damage
Light / lightshade - working bulb?
Radiator - working or any leaks?
Smoke alarm test - check it sounds when tested
En-suite tidiness & cleanliness - is it free of clutter and generally clean? Is the en-suite free of bad odours?
En-suite walls, ceiling, door and window - check for evidence of marks, rust, damp and mould
En-suite fan and light - clear of dust, working well and lightbulb working
En-suite shower, toilet, sink - check for stains, limescale and mould
En-suite towel radiator - check for evidence of rust

Microwave, Kettle & Toaster - evidence of rust / bad odours, limescale build up, etc.
Oven and Extractor fan - check lights and fan are working
Hob - check all rings work
Sink & Tap
Dishwasher - filter is clear?
Bins
Smoke/Heat Detector - has it sounded upon testing?
Kitchen - any other comments

Door, walls and ceiling - any marks, scuffs, damp or mould. Any bad odours present? Check the fire door seal is without damage, and that the door closes fully without obstruction
Extractor fan - is it working, free of dust.
Smoke alarm test - check it sounds when tested
Dryer - is the lint filter clear?
