Communication Pit

  • All pit entries have spigots correctly fitted to ensure no sharp edges on the entry of each conduit

  • Conduits shall only enter and exit communications pits from the end walls and not from the side walls or floor of the pits

  • Lowest point of conduits entering or exiting pits shall be no less than 100mm above the floor of the pit

  • The centerline of conduits entering and exiting pits shall not have vertical difference of more than 50mm

Pipe

  • As per the standard of the Governing Body, where conduit is installed using the trenching method, approved PVC marker tape shall be installed 300mm below the ground level. The marker tape shall be minimum of 75mm in width and fitted with at least two (2) trace wires. At least two meters of each trace wire shall be anchored to the left neatly coiled within each pit.

  • As per the standard of the Governing Body, internal bearer 2 pair telephone cable (drop wire) shall be drawn through all conduits installed by the boring method. At least two meters of the internal bearer telephone cable shall be anchored to and left neatly coiled in each access pit.
