PROOF OF LEARNING WORKBOOK

  • As you learn on the job you will train and learn how to become an engineer. Your Role Model will coach and support you to gain confidence in every aspect of the Engineer role. As you learn and develop your confidence will grow. At a time when your Role Model and you are confident to complete a section of your workbook, your Role Model will observe you and you must correctly complete task without support to sign off each section.

    If at any point you ask the Role Model for help, the session will close and you won’t be signed off on that section.

    You must be confident in each section before complete sign off.

    You may use iknow to support you however, the Role Model will decide if you are competent before a sign off.

    Signing off means that you are both happy and confident you can complete the task on your own. Some tasks require more than one sign off as every home is different and this is to support you gaining experience

DRILLING Is important you assess the whole drilling area understanding what’s around the drilling area, pipes, electrical, water, radiators, etc and where they lead, giving you a picture of the wall you are about to drill. Its important to identify hazards outside, gas boxes, electrical points, drain pipe, type of finish, brick renda etc A thorough RA before drilling, using your measuring tape and pipe detector will prevent any unnecessary damage to the customers home. Complete 4 external drills safety wearing the correct PPE.

SM3 It’s important you can use your Skymaster 3 in all situations. Your Role Model will be training you how to use every feature of the meter whilst you are on sit with customers. It’s important you use your time on site to develop your knowledge in all the features the SM3 has and show you are competent in all its features, which includes... Dish alignment, data loggers, lnb tests, mini loggers, WiFi testing, dB levels, spectrum analysing, channel plan updates, throughput test. Once you have completed, are confident and comfortable with how these features work and your role model can sign you off in this section.

CABLING It’s important to choose the right route for the cable. Leaving the finished work neat, clean and tidy. Referring back to your training correctly, efficiently, and neatly complete 3 cable runs. Including F plugs and waterproofing From dish to box

RISK ASSESSMENTS it’s important before you start work to identify all the risks and hazards on site and record them correctly on your device. Complete 3 risks assessments on your iPad Your Role Model will only need to sign once to day you have completed 3 successfully.

IPAD USE FS APP Your iPad has many features and it’s important that you develop your skill set, eta setting, RA, issuing and uplifting stock etc. Work with your Role Model and learn your way around the iPad, filling in the FS whilst on visits, learning the necessary features in your days work. You will also need to order stock for your next day jobs and keep you vans stock levels healthy Once you have got to grips with the FS app and your Role Model has is confident you can use the app you may sign this section off.

FULL INSTALL ASSESSMENT sky Q When you and your Role Model are confident that you have developed your skills in becoming an engineer, it’s time to see if you can do it on your own. Complete 3 Q installs, your Role Model only observing and there for support. The showcase must be tailored to the customers viewing offering ACE to enhance the customers viewing.

SERVICE Q & + Complete 4 service calls with only your Role Model there for support. Completing full system checks identifying faults, using your SM3 to its full potential, replacing old equipment, fixing the faults, increasing the customers viewing experiences by updating there knowledge on apps and offers and exceeding customer expectations. ,

  • All outside work complete, upgrading old for new and waterproofed

  • Boxes swapped if necessary or faults have been identifies & fixed

  • Customer has all the lasers products services and apps that are applicable to their package
