Quarterly Trailer Inspections

  • Is the trailer deck in good working condition without holes?

  • Are the tires in good condition without visible flat spots?

  • Are the wheels free of defects, with all lug nuts visible and tight?

  • Are all wheel seals present and in good working order?

  • Is there adequate tire and wheel clearance with the frame?

  • Is the frame free of damage, holes, rust, broken welds, or any other visible damage?

  • Is there any visible damage to the trailer's suspension or axle position parts?

  • Are all lights and reflectors attached and operable? (Power supply required for testing)

  • Are all brake pad linings in good condition?

  • What is the thickness of the brake pad linings? (record all 4 as RF =, LF =, RR =, LR =)

  • Are all slack adjusters in good working order?

  • Adjust all brake pads/slack adjusters to proper tightness.

  • Are the airbags and brake drums in good condition?

  • What ones are bad:

  • Is the king pin free of damage, broken welds, or any other visible issues?

  • Are the glad hands present and free of damange?

  • Were you able to replace immediately?

  • Is the landing gear in good working order, with all cross braces present, and no visible damage?
